The Internet of Vehicles technology uses a wireless device to enable real-time information exchange between interconnected vehicles and road infrastructure such as traffic lights. Researchers at the University of Alberta said the technology will change the way people think and travel, improve public safety, and enable urban traffic to deliver people safely and in a timely manner.
The University of Alberta also signed contracts with relevant Chinese units, which will be tested and applied in Tongxiang, Zhejiang and Wuhan, Hubei.
