As early as 2012, Arlington, a student of Florida who was only 12 years old, identified her research project in scientific experiments in the school. She discovered that lionfish thrived in low-level salinity fresh water. Her simple experiment was to capture the lionfish in the local lagoon, place them in a separate aquarium and gradually reduce the salinity content and record it.
