Pesticide industry: highlights are now fully upgraded

2011 was the first year of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan", and it was also the year when the pesticide industry improved and achieved full-scale development. Pesticide industry production and operation, responsibility care, new product development, park construction, foreign exchanges, laws and regulations, structural adjustments, etc. have achieved remarkable results, highlights are frequent.

Highlight 1: The production operation is healthy and stable, and the export growth rate is high.

In 2011, China's pesticide industry still showed a good development trend in overcoming various difficulties. The overall production operation was stable, and the market price tended to be stable, which ensured the need for agricultural production and drug use. According to statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to November 2011, cumulative production of pesticides (100%) was 2.375 million tons, an increase of 19.3% year-on-year. Exports of pesticides amounted to 665,000 tons, an increase of 37.1% year-on-year; exports amounted to 2.01 billion US dollars, an increase of 43.3% year-on-year. The growth rate of pesticide exports was high, and the export volume of high-value-added pesticide preparation products increased more, and they began to enter the high-end markets such as Europe and the United States. New progress was made in the structural adjustment of the pesticide industry. Biopesticide sales accounted for 11.5% of total sales, which was faster than chemical pesticides; the proportion of highly toxic pesticides had been reduced to less than 2%.

Highlights II: Responsible care, face-to-face integration, energy saving and environmental protection are solidly promoted.

In 2011, the pesticide industry carried out a wide range of responsible care activities. A group of companies realized the connection and cooperation with multinational companies in the process of implementing responsible care. The management capabilities have been significantly improved and the overall competitiveness has been enhanced. Jiangsu Rudong Coastal Economic Development Zone Pesticide Industrial Park launched the Responsible Care Action on August 27th, 2011. More than 40 companies in the park respectively submitted the “Responsible Care Commitment Letter”. In response to the current predicament of paraquat, the China Pesticide Industry Association organized and established the China Paraquat Production Enterprise Product Management and Social Responsibility Care Working Group in June 2011. The member companies set up the Paraquat Social Responsible Care Fund at no cost.

In response to the problem of waste water in the production of imidacloprid, China National Association of Pesticide Industry actively promotes the advanced production process of imidacloprid and the “three wastes” treatment technology; and it addresses the environmental hazards of “triphenyl” solvents in the emulsifiable concentrate, and studies and formulates “Pesticides”. “Industry standards for harmful solvents in emulsifiable concentrates”; In response to the environmental pollution problems in the production process of glyphosate, and the disposal of glyphosate-containing salt mother liquors, the glyphosate industry environmental protection special verification working group was established and glyphosate was set up. Special verification fund.

Highlights 3: The ability to innovate in science and technology has increased, and corporate technological innovation has increased.

In 2011, in conjunction with the "12th Five-Year Plan" scientific and technological breakthroughs, many pesticide companies joined the strategic alliance for technological innovation in the pesticide industry. The number of alliance members increased from the initial 17 to 48. With the further development of production, education and research, many pesticide companies have established their own research and development technology centers, and the creation of new pesticide products has gradually evolved toward the enterprise-centered trend. The number of patent applications for enterprises has increased significantly. In particular, in the application of pesticide mixture patents, large-scale pharmaceutical companies such as Guangxi Pastoral and Shenzhen Novozymes have exceeded the six largest agrichemical giants in the world. In 2011, a total of 8 China Pharmaceutical Industry Technology Innovation Awards were selected.

Highlights 4: The collaboration team has achieved remarkable results and the bulk products have continued to develop.

In 2011, the China Pesticide Industry Association organized two newly established collaborative groups of pymetrozine and triazine products, and the cooperation group has reached 13. The collaboration groups organized activities in different forms, such as the official work conference organized by the paraquat and glyphosate collaboration group, the new technology seminar organized by the imidacloprid collaboration group, the meal organization organized by the abamectin collaboration group, etc. Made a contribution. On October 21st, 2011, China Pesticide Industry Association organized the 2011 Bulk Product Forum in Shanghai, inviting heads of unit leaders, industry managers, and research and market elites of the product collaboration group to jointly analyze the new bulk products of pesticides in 2011. Changes, new situations and new developments, discussion of next-step development countermeasures and measures, extension of product life cycle, and provision of an orderly environment for the healthy development of the pesticide industry.

Highlights 5: A breakthrough has been made in foreign exchanges and cooperation, and the pace of internationalization has accelerated.

In 2011, the Chinese and Indian pesticide industry joined hands to become the focus of the world's agrochemical industry. The 11th National Pesticide Exchange Conference and Agrochemical Products Exhibition held in Shanghai attracted overseas visitors from 74 countries and regions. In October and November, the Pesticides Association team traveled to Europe and Japan to conduct inspections and exchanges with three major European pesticide companies and Japanese pesticide companies. Uninterrupted international exchanges have played an active role in objectively and accurately introducing the situation of China's pesticide industry to the world, strengthening exchanges and cooperation with foreign counterparts, and expanding the international market for pesticides in China. In November, China National Chemical Industry Group completed the acquisition of a 60% stake in Maxim-Agan, the 7th largest agrochemical company in the world. While expanding the scale of the company, it achieved rapid internationalization.
