In 1887, ammonium nitrate and fuel-type ammonium nitrate mixed explosives were successfully developed. It laid the foundation for the coexistence and competition of ammonium nitrate and nitroglycerin, which continued to the 1950s.
During the period of 3 nitrification explosives, in the 1950s, mining explosives entered a new stage of development. Its main symbol is the development and popularization of money-fried drugs, ammonium ladder explosives and slurry explosives. The production of nitrifying sweeteners is decreasing. After the slurry explosives, in the 1970s, water-gel explosives and emulsion explosives appeared one after another, forming an explosive-containing system. Currently, a wide variety of mining explosives, mainly granular and powdered explosives by oil, powdered and granular hydrous iron ladder drugs and explosives.
Money fried drugs and water-gel explosives (including slurry explosives) are widely used abroad. 1983 US metal ore, non-metallic minerals (excluding coal mine) and quarry explosives were consumed 430,400 tons, which accounted for 80.4% iron nitrate fuel oil explosive, water and slurry explosives accounted for 15.2%, other explosives only 4.4%.
China has a strong production base according to the fried medicine and Qianti explosives. The annual output and dosage are over 700,000 tons, ranking the highest in all kinds of explosives.
Aqueous explosives, especially emulsion explosives and water-gel explosives, are promising anti-permanent explosives.
