According to the report, in 2013, there was one major accident in the national local railways; the accident rate of one billion tons of railway accidents in the country was 1.253, which was 5.2% lower than in 2012; the number of railway accident deaths in the year was 1,336, which was 5.7% lower than in 2012. The 1 billion tonne-kilometre mortality rate was 0.336, a decrease of 7.7% from 2012.

In 2014, railway transport enterprises will further implement the main responsibility for safety, continue to promote the standardization of management, establish a scientific and effective safety management responsibility system, strengthen employee entry management and education training, and continue to promote the standardization of operations; strengthen professional management responsibilities, strict security The key links are controlled, and special emphasis is placed on the focus of safety, and the level of corporate safety management is continuously improved. The government supervision department will further strengthen the construction of railway laws, regulations, rules and standards systems, increase safety supervision, and coordinate the forces of local governments and the society to jointly safeguard the safety of railway transportation.
