Maritime Safety Equipment's Viking Life-Saving Equipment has introduced a new 153-person liferaft and mini-slide system that is installed in an aluminum stack and can be operated with the push of a button.
The system has been certified by DNV and is named VAS, primarily designed for inland navigation, such as ferries that sail in protected waters. The VAS is designed to be 1.5-3.65 meters high. Pressing the stack button automatically starts the system and keeps the liferaft and slides close to the ship's rail for easy installation and modification. All system equipment meets the ISO 9001 quality system requirements.
Currently, the first two systems have been sold and delivered to F?rjerederiet, Sweden.
