SUV market: Foreign-made domestic high-end SUV increased by more than 5%

According to the wholesale and sales data collected by Gasgoo.com, in the first quarter of 2011, the SUV was still the fastest-growing category of passenger cars in China, with a year-on-year increase of 48.5%. The fastest growing SUV is the city SUV, especially the Dongfeng Honda CR-V represented by the domestic and foreign brands of high-end cities SUV (prices in the 150,000 -300,000 yuan). From the sales of the 10 foreign-made domestic medium and high-end SUV models we have compiled (see Table 1), the total sales in the first quarter increased by 66.5% from the same period last year to 209,200 units, accounting for 52.6% of the total wholesale sales of China's SUVs announced by the CLUCC. , an increase of 5.7 percentage points from 46.9% in the same period of last year.

From the monthly sales in March, similar conclusions can be drawn. In March, the sales growth of the 10 high-end SUVs reached 51.1% year-on-year, exceeding the average growth rate of the SUV market. The proportion of these models in total SUV sales also increased by 5.3% to 53.7% from 48.4% in March last year.

CR-V monthly sales still ahead of Tiguan, ix 35 and RAV4 5-6 thousand

From the sales of various domestic high-end SUVs, the Dongfeng Honda CR-V still leads the three rising stars with significant advantages - FAW Toyota RAV4, Shanghai Volkswagen Tiguan and Beijing Hyundai ix 35. In the first quarter of this year, domestic sales of CR-V reached 39,800, of which sales exceeded 15,000 in January and March.

Domestic sales of ix 35 and RAV4 in the first quarter were 26,300 units and 23,300 units, respectively, which was about 15,000 units lower than the CR-V. Although domestic Tiguan’s sales volume reached 34,000 units in the first quarter, although the gap with CR-V narrowed to less than 6,000 vehicles, the reliability of Tiguan’s sales reported by Shanghai Volkswagen to the CCC was questioned by many people. Tiguan, officially listed at the end of March last year, has reached monthly sales of more than 9,000 units since July of that year. When the SUV market was still hot in December, Shanghai Volkswagen reported a total of 930 Tiguans, causing people to question their possession. Thousands of vehicles, or at the end of the year, increased the implementation of hunger marketing for the next year's surge. In January of this year, its sales volume suddenly increased from less than a thousand vehicles in December last year to 12,900 units, which is only 3,181 units less than that of CR-V; in February, the sales volume of Tiguan was still “surprisingly” reaching 11,700 units. , exceeding CR-V3191 vehicles. With these two months of good results, Tiguan’s cumulative sales volume in the first quarter of this year is even higher, and its quarterly sales gap with CR-V is even smaller.

From the monthly sales in March, Tiguan sales have dropped to more than 9,000 vehicles last year. Sales of the ix 35 and RAV4 are also at the level of 9,000 vehicles. The CR-V sold 152,000 vehicles this month. For the three rookies to catch up with the CR-V, there is still a need to break through this gap of five or six thousand vehicles per month.

March sales: ix 35 exceeded Tiguan, RAV4 still less than 9,000 vehicles

From the comparison of the sales figures between the three rookies, although the view from the first quarter sales, transit view of more than ix 35, but sales in March, Tiguan only 9339, slightly lower than ix 35 (9383). This is the first time since May last year (excluding the Oolong in December), sales for the first time in ix-35 have exceeded the Tiguan.

The RAV4 from April last year to March this year, in addition to the end of last year's sales in November and December rushed more than 9,000, and other months have not reached 9,000. In March of this year, it sold 8,970 vehicles, a small step away from 9,000 vehicles.

March sales: hackers approaching RAV4, Chi running away

Among other domestic high-end SUVs, the fastest-growing one in the first quarter of this year was the hacker. In terms of total sales for the year 2010, Qashqai ranks only seventh in the 10 domestically produced foreign brands SUVs; in the first quarter of this year it has risen to fifth place. In the first quarter, its sales volume increased by 80.2% year-on-year to 21,800 units, which was only 1,533 units lower than the RAV4. From the sales in March, the hacker is also ranked fifth, and there is only a gap of 686 from the RAV4.

An important reason for the increase in sales of hackers is the new car. On January 5 of this year, Dongfeng Nissan’s 2011 hacker came on the market.

Dongfeng Yueda Kia Motors went on the market last October. In the 5th month of its listing, sales volume reached 5,709 in March this year, surpassing Beijing Hyundai's Tucson (5643). From the sales volume of the first quarter, its sales volume is still slightly lower than that of the road.

Compared with the new Korean model ix 35, Chi running has lower sales performance. The ix 35 sold more than 8,000 vehicles in its 5th month of listing (last August), and later exceeded the RAV4 and Tiguan records.
