Four new standards of the Ministry of Environmental Protection

Recently, the Ministry of Environmental Protection has reviewed and passed in principle new standards for the emission of pollutants from boiler air pollutants, household garbage incineration pollutants, industrial pollutants, and non-road mobile machinery.

It is reported that after the new standard is further revised, it will be issued jointly by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the AQSIQ.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection said that in order to prevent and control air pollution, the current "Emission Standard for Air Pollutants from Boilers" will be revised and improved. The revised “Emission Standard for Boiler Air Pollutants” has increased the emission limits of nitrogen oxides, mercury and its compounds in coal-fired boilers, stipulated special emission limits for air pollutants, and eliminated the implementation of different emissions according to functional areas and boiler capacity. The provisions of the limits, as well as the initial emission concentration limits of smoke from coal-fired boilers, have increased the emission control requirements for various pollutants.

At the same time, the Ministry of Environmental Protection has revised and improved the current "Control Standards for Municipal Solid Waste Incineration Pollution," and has newly incorporated the pollution control of sludge from domestic sewage treatment facilities and special incinerators for general industrial solid waste, adding domestic waste incinerators. Control requirements for start-up, shutdown, fault or accident discharge, stricter emission standards for particulates, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, hydrogen chloride, heavy metals and their compounds, dioxins, and other pollutants from domestic waste incineration plants.

In addition, the Ministry of Environmental Protection will further revise the "Tin, Deuterium, Mercury Industrial Pollutants Emission Standards" and "Exhaust Pollutant Emission Limits and Measurement Methods for Diesel Engines Used in Non-road Mobile Machinery".
